GOPers: Invest in Trump’s $5K Bill & You’ll be Fine

Republicans are using America's current economic difficulties as a huge sledge hammer to retake control of Congress in the upcoming mid-term elections, blaming President Biden and Democrats for higher prices at the gas pump and grocery store and losses in the stock market.

The other day at the meat counter at Publix supermarket in Myrtle Beach, SC, a man asked me about my t-shirt and its logo promoting Not Fake News, the blog site that preceded this one.

"What's that?" he asked.

"That's a blog site I created to go after Trump," I replied.

"The best president in our history," the man said, and then went off on a rant about Biden, the economy and his retirement fund losses of 30 percent over the last year.

"You blame that on Biden? Don't you realize that the market tanked after Trump's pal Putin attacked Ukraine, and it's never recovered? If you blame anybody, blame Trump," I retorted.

"There's no talking to you," he snapped as he stomped away.

Trump's Golden Bucks

Well, Mister, I have the solution for you. If you're so enamored with Trump the Shyster, buy up some of his "gold" embossed $5K bills, which are now being sold online at the discounted price of $6.99 each if you buy 30, or $3.99 each if you go all out and purchase 100. Maybe you'll want to impress your friends and golfing buddies at holiday time.

According to an ad in Homer News, a local online rag out of Homer, AK, "the Golden Trump Buck is an exceptional remembrance to honor the historical heritage of former President Trump. In addition to the United States Treasury symbol and the number 5000, it features a smiling portrait of Donald Trump. It is created from eco-friendly, high-quality paper. Each golden note is made from a specific type of premium gold foil with a highly embossed surface."

Glad it's "eco-friendly," aren't you? That's always a Republican concern.

Now the ad goes on to specify that the Golden Trump Buck is meant as a commemorative item and has absolutely no monetary value, but then that's not unlike many of Trump's other business ventures like Trump Wine and the Trump University, and, in fact, the Trump Presidency. They had no real economic value, either.

But that fact didn't seem to stop a couple who went to their local bank and tried to cash their $5K Golden Trump Buck.

It happened in Georgia, home of Herschel Walker, the former football star now trying to ride fake opposition to abortion into the U.S. Senate. A bank clerk posted the following on Reddit: “I work at a bank. A couple just came in wanting to cash this and claimed it was real gold and legal tender.”

WTF is "real gold and legal tender?"

Snopes said the post, reportedly made by a Georgia bank employee, showed a plastic, gold-colored $5,000 bill that displayed the text “GOLD99999999” and bore

Trump's image. The post since has been removed from the Reddit site.

It's hard to believe anybody could be that stupid, but then, of course, it's hard to believe so many people still believe Trump and his lies — like the guy in the grocery store who said Trump — who he agreed was a criminal — was the best president in U.S. history.

But, I guess that's the world in which we live. Come Election Day, unless things change and quickly with so many people still believing Trump and his lies, Trump election deniers will be installed in positions of power. We'll see two years of vindictive, hateful actions against Joe Biden and anyone connected with him as Trump and his allies seek revenge for impeaching Trump and investigating him for trying to overturn the 2020 election.

We'll see what happens to the economy and the stock market then.
