In a constitutional democracy, allegations of misconduct involving powerful individuals must be resolved through evidence, not inference. Donald Trump’s association with Jeffrey Epstein has raised public concern. The absence of criminal charges does not equate to a comprehensive public accounting. Our concern is that the fox (Donald Trump’s public tush-licker, Pam Bondi) is guarding the henhouse. Consequently, we cannot trust that the files released thus far have not been sanitized to protect the president.
If credible documentary evidence exists clarifying Trump’s conduct within that association — whether exculpatory or inculpatory — it should be disclosed through lawful channels. Whistleblowers are protected under federal law. Journalists protect confidential sources. Truth and trust strengthen our democracy. The rule of law depends on evidence. Disclosure requires courage. Come on… You can do it!
Donald Trump:
- was found liable for sexual abuse by a civil jury.
- is the subject of a recording wherein he boasted about his entitlement to grab a woman’s privates when and where he chooses.
- maintained a public social relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex trafficker.
These are documented facts, not partisan opinions. Yet, Trump stands on his bully pulpit and declares — emphatically — that he has been “totally exonerated. Exonerated by what or who? The absence of charges? The passage of time? Political insulation?
While we acknowledge that association alone is not proof of criminal conduct, it is also true that when someone with a well-documented history of sexual, personal, and business misconduct associates with a man who built a criminal enterprise around vulnerable young women, reasonable people are naturally suspicious and inquisitive.
If there exists:
- Travel documentation
- Financial transfers
- Communications
- Photographic evidence
- Corroborated witness testimony
Clarifying his conduct — exculpatory or otherwise — it belongs in the light.
If it clears him, release it.
If it doesn’t, release it faster.
Because silence is not exoneration. It is a strategy.
The rule of law demands evidence — not inference, not rage, not “a leopard doesn’t change his spots.”
But the rule of law also depends on disclosure. The American people deserve lawful transparency.
History will not remember those who protect abuses of power, but it will remember
those who sought and protected the truth. Power often survives scandal not because the powerful are innocent but because they are insulated.
If Donald Trump wants the “total exoneration” he declares, he must permit and encourage a full, unsanitized release of the Epstein files. If something is still buried under layers of political convenience, someone knows about it and refuses to disclose it; that person’s silence is the scandal.
Are you out there? Is the evidence? Is it in a drawer, flash drive, safe, or, perhaps, in a file folder in your desk drawer? Tell the truth. Disclose the information. You’ll feel better—the country (and your conscience) will thank you for it. And justice, at long last, will be served.
